You have a lot of nice things in this.

It evolves nicely, and overall I think it's a great composition. Some of the transitions were perfectly smooth and others (2:59) are a bit too jarring, volume-wise for my taste. But it's an interesting piece no doubt and I enjoyed it.

Thanks I'll try finishing it sometime. You should check back then!

To be honest,

I agreed with you at first about the distortion, but after about a minute, I've changed my mind. I think it's perfect. It's like a different instrument and vibe entirely, and I think it works excellently with the mellow background, which is filtered very well. And it loops amazingly.
Sorry I don't have any criticism, I really enjoyed it. Maybe add a little something to the percussion to change it up every once in awhile. But even thats a bit unnecessary probably.

One of the best ambient songs I've heard in a really long time. It's relaxing and a bit playful at times. The vocal clip's perfectly fitting. This could be used in literally thousands of places in films or games, and I can't think of anything I'd change. The background instruments are at just the right volume and mixed in exactly right. Superb work.

Amazing

Loved it. I think you should work on making your piano sounds a bit more realistic; maybe a bit more reverb or something (minus the ending ones which sound fitting). The percussion on this is beyond great. The quick snare and bass combos are really cool. And the dubwork is pretty good too.

Good to hear:D
I was a little hesitant uploading it too soon since it was my first try at anything dubstep after watching some tuts on how to mess with LFO stuff for dubstep.

The piano is probably the weakest part of this, I used a lil reverb, and the sound goodizer on a really low setting.

Thanks.

Like the composition

The effects are cool and the piano section, fade out, and coming back in work really, really well.
Like you said in your description, when you get to those steps make sure you get to the instruments starting at :07, you clear it up, because its very heavily distorted which is muddling up the sound and it also kinda kills the light and carefree vibe the rest of the piece creates. I think it's a great start though.

Great sound

It has a very futuristic "Terminator"-like sound to it, which is awesome. I think it's a bit unfulfilled though without either some heavy bass sounds thrown in, or some drum work. Maybe not both but just something to give it a bit more edge; it's very much in the higher pitch range the entire loop, and it sounds great, but it would be cool if it came down just once or twice. Cool piece!

i cant find an honest heavy bass that doesnt kill kill the mood of the song...
i feel like the song is not done as it is...
thanks for the input

Interesting feel

Makes you feel like your inside a piece of machinery. It's a great piece. But I found myself wishing to hear one higher pitched instrument cut above the rest and really give it a melody. All your bass and percussive sounds really blend together well to create an atmosphere of its own (2:13 segment especially) but nothing particular comes out and grabs attention except the random vocal parts. Very cool work.

I see what you mean, it does sound like something is missing.

Thanks for the review, and the good constructive criticism! :-)

Beautiful

The last review nailed it I think. Or for use in a flashback, because that piano has an ethereal quality to it, almost like its about to be underwater. Really good stuff.
I would definitely stick it to the beginning or end of a piece as it would make a great intro/outro, but that's only if you still want to do more with it like your description says. Otherwise it's a great loop.

Loved it

I think it's great and I love the evolution it takes throughout. I would definitely crank up those violin-sounding instruments a bit though! Amazing sound and note choice, and I think they should be more in the forefront of the sound.

DJ-Fr0stbite responds:

Yeah i know what you mean, however i thought that if i was going to put an emphasis on the machine part i should make the percussion and misc. sounds in more of the forefront to really bring out the gritty metallic feeling of it. thank you for the review :)

That piano

is so crazy. lol
It's impossible to put that many wrong notes and have it sound that bad without it being on purpose. And I think it actually works well here, especially at that pretty low, background volume it's at. Moreso just provides a vibe of basically everything you said in your description. Excellent work.
As for any criticism, I think i'd like to hear a few of the piano notes extended randomly instead of them all being cut short immediately.

You know what, you are right. Probably should have extended some notes randomly-ish. Would have put more emphasis on the mood.
