Wow

It's really, really great. I write alot of piano stuff myself so believe me when I say this is good stuff. I would have loved to hear a deep, low chord or two thrown in there (maybe in the longer version, which I hope you pursue) and the sudden quick segments are spectacular. Sometimes it sounds a bit weird when you jump tempo like that from a slower one, but you execute it pretty flawlessly here.

WizMystery responds:

I'm leaning towards a lower part in there somewhere, right now the left hand is up there in the treble clef a lot so it's time for the bass to get some input.

Thanks for the really, really fast review!

Great take on it.

When I first read that challenge, I knew it was going to get some awesome results.
You got the beats down exactly right, and it sounds really cool in this trance style.

TeHLoY responds:

Hmm. Thanks! Glad you said so. :)

I was moving to it haha

I think it's biggest strength is the changes; it has a lot of movements that keep it from getting to repetitive composition-wise. But I feel like I kept waiting for another instrument to take the lead that would sound very different. Overall, I think for a longer piece you've done a great job of keeping it interesting til the end.

I kind of kept it original with the one synth sound, ya know? In the past, I've switched around with different sounds. Just trying out new things over and over. You know how it goes...

Not sure why you don't like it.

It's really great in my opinion. It's a bit mesmerizing; I think if i let it play a few times, and just staring at the visualizations until I passed out. Haha
I particularly like the really low background effects in the sub-range.

I guess I just felt like I could have put more elements into this track. But then again, I could just be my harshest critic....

Thanks for the review, I'm glad you enjoyed the track!

Pretty cool

I like how you recorded the carol in two different instruments. It sounds pretty cool in alto sax.

AccountableMasses responds:

thanks.... it was rushed session though..... could of been better.

On a side note, if you believe you could make something out of it, please, feel free to do so.. I'll add it to the Christmas collab for you

Hypnotizing

To be honest, I don't see anything fitting horror here; much more dramatic in my opinion. But I like it very much. Not to say "it sounds videogame-like," but I could picture this in a good game for sure at an emotional point.
My only criticism is I think its mixed extremely loudly, so much so that it's distorting the audio a bit. Besides that, I enjoyed it!

VincentRamos17 responds:

well upon your critism i dont blame you for saying that it would really fit in a horror video and well i do program some games but i do accept how you put your view on this song... although i am happy with the way i built it but i find it a little loud myself.
though im glad you enjoyed the song

Solid

It's totally great. I wasn't sure if I was going to feel it from the start because I wasn't sure how that instrument was going to work. But once the percussion came in, I was sold. It's a really good sound all around, and I particularly like what you did at 1:02.

Caine1989 responds:

Wow im really glad u like it! Thank you for your review!

Nice

You have a unique voice and I think it works well here. The lyrics are really out there. But that's not an issue. I like when it changes and gets softer ALOT more than the main melody though. Great ambiance effects with the bell sounds. Overall, I really like it.

Thanks for the review; Even though I not really know what you meant with the lyrics :D But yea I like the soft part two, it's like a sanctuary in the middle of the song

Wow

Not my favorite type of techno, but technically speaking its really great.
Especially around like 1:40, the background melody layered in is just perfect.

JackLiddle responds:

Thanks ^^ appreciate it :)

Great work

I think mixing wise, the main instruments overpowered the percussion a bit too much for my taste, but that may be what you wanted. Either way, it's a solid piece and when it drops out and builds back up, it's a flawless transition.

SandTraukz responds:

yeah i know the main instruments overpowered the percussion. But anyway thanks :D
